Levelling Up

My background in sciences and engineering hadn’t prepared me with tools and structure for what my job really requires. After 8 hours, the Advanced Modeling course has provided a wealth of new ideas and skills in a format that I can go and apply immediately.

New Insights

Before I started the course, I was expecting a predominantly video-focused format complemented with an Excel file. It turned out to be more text-heavy than I initially thought – it gave me some school day flashbacks! 😅
I like the clarity of the content, especially the videos. The workflow structure and the Excel file you’ve incorporated are fantastic and I learned a lot about the way a financial model is supposed to be done. The course has given me insights that are clearly superior to my current methods, and I plan on implement them in my work the first chance I get.
I was also pleasantly surprised by the template packed with ready-to-use data. It’s such a great addition and will be incredibly handy for kickstarting new models.

Modeling Fundamentals

Summary

In the first course of our Financial Modeling program, titled “How to Build a Cash Flow Model” we dive into the fundamental aspects of constructing a financial model using a real-life scenario of a new hotel owner planning to upgrade several rooms.

This course focuses on equipping you with essential skills to develop a robust cash flow projection.

You’ll also learn how to create a Dynamic Data Table and understand how to implement sensitivities on your model.

Intermediate Modeling

Summary

In the second course of our comprehensive Financial Modeling program, we explore a captivating scenario involving a new hotel owner who faces the decision of whether to replace several rooms with a bar.

Throughout this course, our key learning objectives are centered around better understanding the underlying drivers of revenue per room, average check per customer, and other critical factors that impact financial performance.

You’ll also learn how to create Scenarios which your client or manager can play around with on their own.

Advanced Modeling

Summary

In the final portion of our program, we explore the scenario where your client wants to pursue the manufacturing and leasing of boats.

Throughout this course you will gain a deep understanding of critical concepts like FCFF (Free Cash Flow to Firm) versus FCFE (Free Cash Flow to Equity), as well as the significance of Unit Economy in financial modeling.

You’ll also learn how to model business synergies and structure your model so as to segment the outputs for your audience.
